Alex Al Modares, BIR, CMCS

Alex is a workforce development and strategic relationship professional dedicated to connecting education, industry, and talent. As a Work-Integrated Learning Coordinator at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and a Certified Master of Career Services, he helps students and emerging professionals translate their skills into meaningful career opportunities through experiential learning, employer engagement, mentorship, and career development.

With experience spanning workforce development, leadership, operations management, and career coaching, Alex is recognized for his leadership style and ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with employers, academic leaders, and community organizations. His work has contributed to expanding experiential learning opportunities, strengthening student employability, and supporting organizations in developing future-ready talent. Through his leadership and collaborative efforts, the Melville Business Strategy Internship (MBSI) program achieved recognition as the #1 Mitacs internship submission program in the Pacific Region and #5 nationally in Canada.

In addition to his role at KPU, Alex is the founder of Brightway Coach, a career coaching and leadership development practice dedicated to helping students, early-career professionals, career changers, and emerging leaders gain clarity, build confidence, identify their unique value, and navigate career growth with purpose. Through personalized coaching and strengths-based development strategies, he empowers clients to align their careers with their goals, values, and potential.

Alex also serves as a mentor in the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) mentorship program, supporting the next generation of professionals in their leadership and career journeys.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his family through hiking, swimming, camping, and horseback riding. He values meaningful conversations, lifelong learning, and building authentic relationships, which guide both his professional and personal life.
