The ASCM British Columbia chapter would like to invite you to our next professional development meeting on the topic of “Activity Based Management (ABM)”.  Professional Development Meetings (PDMs) provide an excellent opportunity for supply chain professionals to keep abreast of the latest developments in processes, practices, equipment and systems affecting our industry. Keep informed and stay up to date with our upcoming professional development meeting.

Session Synopsis:

What could you do if you knew both how much time it was taking to perform major activities and services and also know how much it was costing you to perform those activities and services?

What if you could identify and measure the time and money spent on “muda” (duplicated effort, rework, non value added) activities.

How can you allocate limited resources effectively if you don't know the true costs of running your operation?

Unfortunately, with budget constraints and the demand to respond quickly to customers’ requests both externally as well as internally, business managers and staff are consistently being asked to do more with less.  As a result, as a means to increase efficiency, businesses are implementing Activity Based Management (ABM) methodology to help identify what is driving their costs and response time, and how both can be optimized.

This session will not only help you answer the questions listed above, it will teach you how you can make informed decisions and identify where processes need to be improved and how.  This information can also be used to establish internal benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
